Improving Milton’s transportation infrastructure is a top priority for the Public Works Department - a reflecting of its utmost importance to Milton citizens.
Public Works staff provides the following transportation services:
- Coordinates planning, projects and funding with federal, state, GDOT, regional, county and local partners
- Develops and updates Transportation Planning documents and studies including Comprehensive Transportation Plans (CTP)
- Provides traffic studies and engineering design
- Serves as program manager of TSPLOST
- Manages preconstruction activities of planning, design and right-of-way acquisition for Capital Improvement Projects
- Delivers infrastructure repairs, reconstruction and Capital Improvement Projects by managing inspections and construction activities
- Designs, manages and implements the Traffic Calming Program
- Implements pedestrian improvements, trail projects, and the Safe Routes to School Program
- Assists the Community Development Department with site development plan review
- Reviews right-of-way dedications and coordinates request for right-of-way abandonments
- Ensures public infrastructure is safe and reliable through roadway management
