Pay, perks, and benefits

Milton offers competitive pay as seen in the scale below (broken down annually by experience). In addition, there is a $4,000 sign-on incentive for certified officers –$2,000 after FTO and $2,000 after probation and a Career Development Program with pay incentives. PTO accruals are commensurate with experience.

      

In addition, there is a:

  • SWAT pay incentive 
  • Tuition reimbursement up to $3,000 a year
  • Membership at a local firing range
  • 401(a) account, with City and employee both contributing 6.2%
  • Voluntary 457 program in which the City matches 200% of the employee's contributions up to 12%
  • Generous PTO -- from 133.1 hours annually for up to 1 year of service to 266.3 hours annually for 10 to 14 years of service
  • Ability to carryover 252 PTO hours from one year to the next
