Building permits are required by City of Milton to help verify structures are built to standards that ensure the public’s safety and protection of their equity by reducing the potential hazards of unsafe construction and ensuring health, safety, and welfare of citizens, families, and business owners. Currently the following codes (with Georgia Amendments) have been mandated by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs as the minimum construction standards state-wide.
The City of Milton enforces these mandated codes (along with some permissive codes), within the City limits:

Permits
The City's Community Development Department issues permits for all construction activity in Milton. Our staff will review permit applications and plans as necessary and issue permits.
