Jan Jacobus in January 2022 became a member of Milton’s City Council, the latest place where he has contributed to his community.

Prior to being elected to the Council, Jacobus served on the City’s Planning Commission and the Trails Committee that produced the Milton Community Trail Prioritization Plan. He was also part of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, known as CPAC, that provided critical insights shaping Milton’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

Jacobus has been involved in Milton in other ways as well, included as treasurer of the Crooked Creek subdivision’s HOA.

Professionally, he spent 32 years working in various marketing and sales leadership positions at Abbott Laboratories, an international company focused on innovation, technology and health. This came after his graduation from Ashland University with a double major in marketing and economics.

Best of all, Jan is the proud husband of Marlysa, father of two sons and a daughter (William, Palmer and Jacquelyn), and a doting grandfather of six.
