#MiltonEveryoneCounts
EVERYONE COUNTS in the City of Milton - that's why we need every person residing in Milton to fill out the 2020 Census.
The Census provides vital information for OUR community - AND FOR YOU!
CENSUS AT A GLANCE
The Census is much more than just a head count. It provides a picture of our nation that helps determine where to build new schools, hospitals, and businesses; how federal funding is distributed; and how congressional seats are apportioned. It also helps us see how our communities have changed over time. That’s why an accurate count is so important.
Locally, the Census:
- Determines district boundaries, and how many representatives each state gets in Congress
- Determines the annual distribution of federal funds—now over $675 billion each year. In Georgia, each person equated to approximately $1,600 per year for their community (for Milton!).
- Provides statistics to plan for new roads, schools, and emergency services.
- Helps businesses determine where to open.
That's why it's so important that YOU -- and all your Milton neighbors -- are counted in Census 2020. Every person who participates means a little more funding, attention and focus on our community.
