All spots have been claimed the 2025 CGA class. Thank you to all who expressed interest in learning about Milton's government! We regret that there's not room for every applicant, though anyone can submit the form below to join the 2026 class.
The City of Milton proudly offers its Citizens Government Academy in which residents learn firsthand from City employees and get a behind-the-scenes look at how Milton's government operates.
This eight-week course gives participants a unique perspective into many functions of municipal government. When in session, classes meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9 p.m. at City Hall and various government buildings in Milton, allowing participants to fully experience City facilities.
Through a combination of presentations and hands-on projects, participants learn about vital community services including emergency services, law enforcement, planning and zoning, finance and budget, court systems, public works, special projects, parks and recreation, and more. Most importantly, CGA participants connect with local officials and the City staff members who provide these services. Weekly instructors vary depending upon the City service or department being covered that week.
Each class is limited to 20 participants, who must be 18 years old and a Milton resident or business leader. The City has held seven iterations of its Citizens Government Academy, with the most recent finishing up in March 2024.
