At the October 2018 Operational Improvement Committee meeting, intersection improvements at  Birmingham Crossroads were approved by GDOT to move forward as a project with funding. Quick Response Program

GDOT has a program for operational improvements such as turn lane additions that can be implemented in a short period of time and for under $200k. There is also a form available to Suggest a Quick Fix improvement.

PI S015040 SR 372/Crabapple Road at Green Road

This project was implemented in 2019 through the quick response program and funding beyond the quick response improvements has not yet been identified but further improvements are recommended in the Milton Comprehensive Transportation Plan and based on limited construction that was completed with this funding.

The GDOT Design was to install a 500-foot dedicated left turn lane on SR 372/Crabapple Road Northbound to Green Road. As GDOT was preparing to begin the project in late 2018, the City of Milton was able to work out additional improvements as part of a Modified Design to create a Florida T-type intersection and separate turn lanes on Green Road.

2021 UPDATE: An analysis of the intersection was prepared and recommended by GDOT on June 15, 2021 including a Design for Modifications. The recommendations from this report state "D7 Traffic Operations recommends that the concrete island be removed and the previously designed striping pattern for this intersection be installed in its place. The removal and restriping will ensure the intersection is constructed according to GDOT standards while further study of the intersection is ongoing."

PI S015041 SR 372/Birmingham Highway at Batesville Road

This project was implemented in 2019 through the quick response program and funding beyond the quick response improvements has not yet been identified but further improvements are recommended in the Milton Comprehensive Transportation Plan and based on limited construction that was completed with this funding.

The GDOT Design was for installing a left turn lane on SR 372/Birmingham Highway Northbound to Batesville Road.
