The Milton Police Department Cadets Program (formerly the Explorers) is open to young people age 14 to 20 (who have completed 8th grade), who want to learn about a career in law enforcement or criminal justice.

What is a Law Enforcement Cadet?

The Law Enforcement Cadet program is a respected career orientation and experience program for young adults considering a law enforcement or criminal justice career. Its mission is to make young adults more aware of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competitions, and other activities.

Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship, and patriotism. Cadets also have the opportunity to participate in ride-alongs with Milton police, experience some of the same training as police officers, and participate in annual Cadet competitions both on the state and national level.

For information regarding the Cadets Program, please contact Officer Rebecca Tidwell by email at rebecca.tidwell@miltonga.gov or by phone at 678-242-2752.
