The City of Milton's Information Services Department coordinates with every single City department on their technological needs. As such, it plays a vital role in the efficient, effective governance of the City as well as the services provided to our citizens.
An important part of the Information Services Department's mission is ensuring that all current hardware, software, and various systems and programs work well -- and troubleshooting and resolving issues when they arise. At the same time, this Department also takes a proactive approach in assessing and addressing what's needed as well as finding innovative ways to move the City forward from a technological standpoint.
Currently, Milton's Information Services are a partnership with two full-time City employees working hand-in-hand with a private, contracted company that can call on subject-matter experts as well as provide day-to-day technical support.
The City's GIS, or online mapping system, runs through the Information Services Department. For available GIS-produced maps and related online tools (or links to where you can find them), go to www.miltonga.gov/maps. (To contact Milton's GIS experts, email gis@miltonga.gov.)
A citizen experiencing technical issues on a City platform can contact the City representative/team associated most closely with it -- such as the Community Development Department (678-242-2545) for CityView -- or contact the City generally at 678-242-2500 or info@miltonga.gov. After that, Milton's Information Services Department could very well become involved.
