Milton’s Design Review Board returns to City Hall on Tuesday evening for reviews of two requests for Dinsmore Road properties and building design reviews of Lakeside at Crabapple townhomes and site of Milton's original City Hall.
The July 6 meeting will start at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. People can attend in person or virtually via Zoom using this link: https://zoom.us/j/95042441304.
The meeting will begin with DRB members considering a request to demolish an existing residence, shed and chicken house at 14260 Phillips Circle, a street that connects with Freemanville Road and Wood Road.
This will be followed by courtesy reviews on the following items:
- An applicant is requesting that the City allow an accessory structure housing animals – a barn, in other words – to be less than 100 feet from the property line at 14779 Wood Road.
- For 2255 Dinsmore Road, with the applicant asking for the front-yard setback to be 23 feet from an existing house (rather than 60 feet) and the side-yard setback to be 17 feet from the same house (rather than 25 feet).
- The next request relates to the adjacent property at 2275 Dinsmore Road. The applicant wants to reduce the front-yard setback there from 60 feet to 45 feet for an existing house.
- At 2540 Hopewell Road – a property at the intersection at Hopewell, Francis and Cogburn Roads – the applicant is making several requests, namely:
- To reduce the setback for a barn from 100 feet to 35 feet along the east side of the property.
- To reduce the setback for existing fence (for an animal pen/ run), from 200 feet to 10 feet along that same east property line.
- To allow an existing gazebo to remain as shown on the site plan submitted to the City of Milton’s Community Development Department in late May.
The Design Review Board will also consider a final review of buildings 3-6 for townhomes in the new Lakeside at Crabapple development. This neighborhood is near the City’s new lakeside park at Mayfield Road.
Members will also weigh potential changes to 13000 Deerfield Parkway, which for years had been Milton’s City Hall before its permanent City-owned home in downtown Crabapple opened. Specifically, the applicant is seeking to rebrand that property with paint, fencing and signage alterations.
After Tuesday’s meeting, the DRB is next scheduled to convene on Tuesday, August 3.
