VIDEO: Enhancements coming soon to Milton City Park and Preserve

Post Date:09/18/2024 2:47 PM

A large swath of Milton City Park and Preserve will undergo a major makeover in the coming months – adding trail, beauty, drainage enhancements, functionality, as well as upgraded habitats for wildlife.

In this video, City Engineer Scott Tkach provides specifics on what will happen in the 79 acres of “North Woods.” This includes removing elements of the former golf course as well as invasive species as part of transforming it into an even more natural state. Some changes, like significant stormwater and hydrology enhancements, may not be as evident afterwards to the naked eye. But others, like a new dock for fishing and 10-foot wide decomposed granite path, will be.

Crews have been in the area recently doing things like removing old cart paths and installing silt fences. The work should ramp up over the next few weeks.

We’ll share developments on the City’s social media, though your best place to get weekly updates is on this MCPP “Phase 2” project page at  https://cleargov.com/georgia/fulton/city/milton/projects/10563/milton-city-park-and-preserve-passive-park-phase-2-gosp.
