A huge thank you to the roughly two dozen folks who spent their Saturday morning working hard at Birmingham Park clearing trails, picking up debris, and generally making Milton’s gem of a nature park even better.
Those who got their hands dirty for this good cause included members of the Milton Trails Advisory Committee, Milton Equestrian Committee, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, as well as Mayor Peyton Jamison. They were joined by members of the local chapter of the Young Men’s Service League and several community members.
Taking advantage of the dry, not-too-hot springtime weather – a welcome change from the wetness that prompted the postponement of the clean-up day originally scheduled for several weeks ago – the volunteers used power tools and their hands to improve the walking paths along all nine trails in the 200-acre park.
Why did they do it? Well, in large part so people like you can enjoy Birmingham Park even more.
If you’re a fan of picturesque hikes amid trees, over creeks, past fields, and maybe even in the company of horses, come on out any day to the park, which is accessible at 750 Hickory Flat Road. For more on this nature-lover's haven in northwest Milton,
