Milton’s Parks and Recreation Department will lead a public meeting April 18 about a grant proposal that, if successful, could help pay for changes impacting the parking lot and active recreational portion of Milton City Park and Preserve.
The meeting is an opportunity for those who live around the park (which is the former Milton Country Club) as well as those who might otherwise have a stake or interest in this initiative to share their views with City staff. The intent is to do so before the City spells out relevant, necessary details in a potential application for grant funding through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
The City is exploring reconfiguring and improving the Milton City Park and Preserve parking area, including refinishing it. Other aspects of this proposal including possibly adding a playground and expanding the tennis facilities, as outlined in this specific park’s master plan. The City is also looking into building pickleball courts as well.
The grant application doesn’t need to specify all the details – including the exact locations for features – for these possible changes. But it must explain the general parameters of what will be done.
The April 18 meeting will start at 6 p.m. in the Community Center building at Milton City Park and Preserve (1785 Dinsmore Road). All are welcome to attend.
