Milton kickstarts its branding, placemaking initiative with survey

Post Date:03/23/2023 8:07 AM

Milton Branding Survey first pageThe City of Milton kickstarted its branding and placemaking initiative with an invaluable opportunity to gather input from the people whose opinions matter most – our citizens.

This feedback will be collected through a new survey that anyone can access HERE: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MiltonBranding.

This survey solicits citizens’ important views on Milton’s current identity, how it is perceived regionally, and what steps the City should take going forward to promote a cohesive, distinctive character that reflects what the community really feels Milton is all about. This and other work will feed into a broader strategy that will inform Milton’s entryway signage, its logo, a tagline, and more.

This is the first of many opportunities Milton residents have to weigh in on this initiative. There will also be in-person events, social media posts, and open meetings over the next few months at which people can share their opinions. Moreover, the City’s project team can incorporate findings from other recent Milton surveys like the National Community Survey and those conducted for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan to get an even better sense of citizens’ perspectives.

Notably, the Comprehensive Plan featured a new section (relative to past Plans) dedicated to branding and placemaking. That led to this effort to foster, build on, and communicate Milton’s unique identity to residents and visitors. In addition to supporting local businesses and economic development generally, the ultimate strategy should relate a common, yet certainly special, character for all Milton – as well as identities for distinct districts such as Crabapple, Birmingham Crossroads, and the Highway 9/Deerfield corridor.

The survey described and linked to above should remain open at least through the end of April. If you have questions about this survey or this project, contact the City's Economic Engagement Manager Anita Jupin at anita.jupin@miltonga.gov.
