Rivers Alive Waterway Cleanup

Help us protect Milton's waterways and ecosystem by volunteering at our next “Rivers Alive” event on Saturday, October 26, from 9 to 11 a.m. -- this year at Providence Park.

Rivers Alive is Georgia's volunteer waterway cleanup initiative, dedicated to keeping our state’s watersheds clean, clear, and trash-free. The program aims to raise awareness and encourage involvement in preserving Georgia’s water resources. It's also an opportunity to make a tangible difference by cleaning up waterways in our hometowns.

On October 26, that location specifically will be Providence Park. We'd love to have your assistance as the park's lakefront and creeks could use a cleanup of branches, trash, and more on the heels of (once) Hurricane Helene. (Previous editions of Rivers Alive have been elsewhere in Milton, such as Birmingham Park.)

So please come out with friends, relatives, and neighbors to make a positive environmental impact! We'll provide snacks like granola, drinking water, safety vests, trash bags, and lots of appreciation for your service.

For more information, visit the Georgia Rivers Alive webpage (https://riversalive.georgia.gov/) or contact Milton's Environmental Program Manager Emily Groth at emily.groth@miltonga.gov.
