Bring One for the Chipper Christmas Tree Recycling

BringOneForTheChipperJust in time for the new year, Bring One for the Chipper is back – and, with it, so is the opportunity to dispose of your Christmas tree in an Earth-friendly way.

All are welcome to bring their ornament-free evergreens to the parking lot nearest Milton High School’s baseball field (accessible at 13025 Birmingham Highway) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Experts, fittingly, from Casey Tree Experts as well as volunteers from the Young Men’s Service League will take your free and feed it to the “chipper,” where it can be broken down into bits suitable for mulch and wood chips to serve landscaping needs.

While dropping off your past-its-prime Christmas tree, you can pick up a new ready-to-thrive tree seedling. To be specific, dozens of Redbud seedling’s will be given out to all who come by and are interested. It’s part of Plant! Milton, an initiative to encourage tree planting as well as educate and engage the public on all things trees. (You can learn more at www.miltonga.gov/PlantMilton.)

Bring One for the Chipper is one of several ways to dispose of your trees in Milton.

Another is to have Scouts from Troop 841 come to your yard, pick-up your tree, then properly dispose of it. There’s a small fee for this service, with proceeds benefiting the Troop. You can learn more, and sign-up, at https://www.t841.org/?page_id=300.

There’s also the option of bringing your tree to Scottsdale Farms for whenever that Milton business is open and taking them.
