'Tree Tour' at Bell Memorial Park

City Arborist Sandra Dewitt will lead a “Tree Tour” at noon on October 28 at Bell Memorial Park, starting by the Wall of Fame/main entrance.

She’ll guide people around the ballfields, along the natural trail, then back to where it all started – sharing insightful nuggets from years of expertise, education, and then some at stops along the way.

The species you’ll encounter, and learn more about, include Sycamores, Dogwoods, Willow Oaks, Dawn Redwoods, and Chinese Elms. Come ready to walk and with questions, while Dewitt will come equipped with the knowledge. Maybe you’ll get valuable tips for trees in your yard, or ideas of what to plant there next. (Tree “planting season” in Georgia runs from about mid-November to mid-March, so the timing is good.)
