Fire Safety Day

Members of the Milton Fire-Rescue Department will team up with the Milton Library to a host a Fire Safety Day -- an extra special one, seeing as it comes on the 100th Anniversary of Fire Prevention Week.

Activities include:

  • A "tour" of a Milton fire engine
  • Training on how to use a fire extinguisher
  • Quality time with Sparky the Fire Dog, a costumed mascot for fire prevention
  • Sign-ups for Community Connect, an online tool to give first responder key info so they can be even more effective in emergencies

This year's Fire Safety Day theme is, "Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escape." To that end, firefighters will encourage people to develop and regularly practice what to do, and where to go, to safely and efficiently escape when the smoke alarm sounds.
